this weather….curse it! i had been in the mood to talk gardening again today but after the drive this morning through yet another foot of snow (ughhh weather dude said 4 inches originally) and nothing being plowed i thought maybe i’d show off some of my favorite latest finds.
like gardening in the winter, picking in michigan is kind of a dead zone. meaning it’s very hard to find and/or doesn’t happen. luckily i got to escape for a couple of days to texas and got a little bit of a fix in but the really good vintage stuff was way too big to fit into my suitcase. originally i was dead set against “imposter vintage” is what i formally called it. meaning repro’s made to look old. BUT sometimes when you can’t find/ can’t afford the “real thing” a great substitute is to purchase a repro.
i was out visiting my pal amber at bailey and james last week FINALLY making it out to her store (come on abby she’s been open like months). among the other things i wanted to stuff in my trunk and take home i restrained myself and settled on a vintage bowl set and this awesome repro egg basket. i thought it freshened up the counter a little bit because i used to keep my eggs in a vintage pyrex bowl and that got to be too small. we have been getting about 5 – 8 eggs daily which is perfect because we stock up for the weekend and eat a ton of quiche.
this little piggy came from market. magnolia market that is. it’s one of my favorite little finds i brought back from there. i mean…before this piggy we kept paper towel on our counters like barbarians. now it has a cute little home and the little curly tail behind makes me smile. it’s the little things you know?
what are some ways you are brightening up your home on this dreary “winter” “spring” day? favorite places to find farmhouse decor?
