sorry about last week. i was dying. literally the month of april was so busy with work, events, vintage stuff, house stuff. pulling my hair out over here. may will still be busy but a little less so with having to be places.
so lets catch up to wear we were before. i had just reached the 15 lb loss mark. i’ve still been hitting the gym and lifting weights which i think has made a huge difference in my shape. i actually enjoy weight lifting at least way more than i do with cardio. i think it’s because it’s short and sporadic. i dont have to do the same movement for 45 minutes. joe and i just got road bikes too so i’m anxious to get to the bike shop and learn how to properly use it. i think it will be a great summertime workout for the two of us to do together.
i have been maintaining this 14/15 lb loss for about two weeks so now it’s time to get back into the groove again. kick things up a notch. honestly i’ve given up on my fitness pal. i know i need to be tracking my food but when i get super busy i don’t plan ahead and when i don’t plan ahead i don’t know what i’m eating and when i don’t know what i’m eating i don’t log it. the struggle is real.
i do know though how to go into “survival mode” when i’m having a hard time planning ahead and my meals get lost in translation i do the following things.
1.) eat less “known carbs” (bread, biscuits, etc)
2.) cut out alcohol
3.) lay off the sweets
here is the deal though, i’m an ice cream FREAK and lately all i can think about at 8:45 pm is a cookie dough flurry with a little bit of caramel mixed in it. one a week is my rule and i usually go on sunday night to the shiver shack. i can’t help it the heart wants what it wants.
do you have a survival mode? how do you stay fit and on task when life gets super hectic?0
