week 7 ladies and gentleman. how was your week? i’ve been really really trying to meditate on my last post and see if i can in a sense calm myself down. some days i failed majorly some days i did a little better.
it’s just really hard to disconnect in todays society. you are expected to answer calls, texts, emails all the time no exceptions really. so how did you do trying to divide out your time? your energy? and your focus?
this week i’m continuing my journey of getting healthier physically. not that i took a break just now i’m on a juice cleanse. i made reference to this monday. i will go in to more details here.
i have been going to a wellness center (when i’m ready.. i’ll share everything) but in the meantime i will talk about the cleanse portion.
i was very skeptical and still am about the cleanse fad. there are so many. so so many. and i was super skeptical because 1. i didn’t think i could ever do it. 2. they seemed a little bit hocus pocus to me.
the more i read about whole foods, non processed, cutting out or limiting certain things, getting rid of toxins and clearing your system, the more i’m kind of becoming a believer. i have been eating 99% clean (with the exception of a saturday or two) and grass fed organic and oh wait? measuring out portions.
things were going good i lost about 5 lbs in about 3 weeks which is a really good rate to lose. then it just stopped again. i didn’t change anything (for the worse) i was still exercising and eating right measuring etc.
so then i met some ladies from a wellness clinic. i thought hocus pocus. but what have i got to lose?
things started going well again with their guidance i lost another 5 lbs which makes me back to 170!!!! 10lbs since christmas and i’m back in my jeans for the first time since thanksgiving. yea.
so now enter the juice cleanse. monday was my first day. it absolutely 100% sucked. no solid food. just this juice mix, water, gerbil pellets and vitamins.
here is the thing though, upon further reflection i wasn’t ever really THAT hungry i just really really really wanted solid foods because i couldn’t have them. i wanted mcdonalds SO bad. but it wasn’t because i was hungry i just… wanted it because i couldn’t have it.
so juice day was monday. for the next three days i have two protein shakes a day and then for dinner a 500 calorie meal consisting of whole foods, lean proteins and as many veggies as possible in a 500 calorie limit. with some simple addition i figured out i will be eating a strict 1200-1300 calorie diet for three days. then it starts alternating juice, shake, juice shake until the end of the 11 day period.
i’m hoping to weigh myself friday and then again at the end next friday.
so what about juice cleanse or cleanses in general. anybody tried them? anybody seen results? curious!
ps below is my first solid meal in two days. a 5oz grilled salmon with an orange avocado salsa and grilled baby bok choy.0
