what a night people!
joe was out of town and after a day of rain i was all set to have a night picking up around the house, reading and eating my cheese plate while watching a marathon of chopped. however when i got home it was sunny! and hot! i felt a little guilty sticking to my original plan. but i did anyway. i ended up falling asleep on the couch at like 8:30 and i’m glad i did because around 1am the entire house was shaking from thunder. and that lasted until about 2:30. that sucked. so i gave myself an extra cup of coffee and headed out to the gym. i might be a little exhausted today but i think i can pull through.
tonight joe comes home late from out of town. i might be swinging by pottery barn and homegoods to check out what they have to offer in the lamp and lighting department. we have a screen room that has no ceiling lights just fans. i guess we could switch the fans out but some table lamps might be good too. it’s weird because most rooms in our house have ceiling fans which is awesome because we have no a/c but the fans have no lights in them. do you know if you can add lights to the bottoms of fans or is that a completely separate mechanism? hi my name is abby and i know nothing about electric and how lights work. even though i think we had to make a potato light up a light bulb once in either science or shop class.
tomorrow i’m taking off early in the morning to head to some flea markets in illinois. lucky me there are TWO going on within about 2 hours of each other. this trip will be a table adventure. i need a table for the kitchenette area, coffee table for the screen room, coffee table for the cocktail lounge and side tables for the bedroom. tables. also looking for anything 4-h and farm related for the dining room. i am collecting vintage farm paintings and drawings for a gallery wall in there.
saturday night we are heading up to pentwater! our friends from st. louis are opening up their cottage and we miss them so much we are willing to freeze our butts off to spend the weekend there. plus it’s supposed to be above 30 there and typically if it’s above 30 degrees our heater thing can keep the place decently warm. we probably won’t do a lot of work there but make a list of projects to finish up. we are getting so close we just have a few major ones left. (windows, floor, trim loft ceiling, paint) all of the boring stuff (electric, plumbing, insulation and walls) are done. so we are getting there! we are going to have to be weekend warriors this summer working around the ol farm (love saying that) and the cottage. it doesn’t bother me though because i love projects and as much as i love getting them done, none are super urgent and everything is livable so it’s fun.
sunday we are going to hang out at pentwater see whats open, see whats changed. and probably head home after a late lunch with friends. get ready for the week? i need to be more diligent about making my grocery list this week. whenever i don’t make a list i waste food, waste time and waste money. so i might be doing that on my drive home from pentwater.
what does everyone have planned for the weekend? happy friday!
shout out to my buddy shawn at bello via who designed this site and took this pictures yesterday while we worked and got nothing done…again
