thank you. thank you thank you thank you thank you and thank you again for all of the texts, messages, comments and support. you all made this weekend bearable. thank you so much. this weekend i filled up as much as possible with dates, activities, projects and work. i know a lot of people say that you need a quiet of mind but i would argue that sometimes you just don’t need time to think. grief is an unfunny funny thing and we all handle it differently but i do know that i couldn’t have made it through with all the support of my friends and family.
friday night seems like ten years ago already. after we closed up after an interesting day at the store (some construction issues, electricity and internet issues) i was ready to chillax before opening for the big warehouse sale the next day. we headed to my friends katie and todd’s wedding. it. was. a riot. people this girl had Donkey cater. you KNOW how i feel about my prickly pear margaritas. no time for cake this girl had a donut truck. it was the perfect night for an outdoor wedding and we had an absolute awesome time. coincidentally it was next door to my pal jess’s house and we busted them on our way out trying to plastic wrap joe’s truck so we walked over and closed the night out by having a fire at their place.
saturday morning i headed to the store around 7am to make sure that we were getting organized for the day. straightened the store, made sure everything was working and then the lines started. holy moly. you guys! the line to get in to the warehouse was all the way to the street again and then we had a line that we wrapped around the store. we work hard there and i’m so grateful that you all come and support us and are so polite and patient. thank you so much. we had an absolute riot and couldn’t have done it without our amazing partners at the store.
after we closed for the day i had to kill some time before picking joe up from a bachelor party downtown (it was my turn to be driver) my friend julie met me at the store at 5 and we made it to birch run by 7, shopped for two hours then made it home by 11 just in time to pick joe up. i think my eyes were closed as i was falling in to my pillow. i didn’t get a ton at the outlet but they had some great deals on little kitchen gadgets i needed (whisks, pans etc).
sunday morning joe was in a bit rough shape. and i was exhausted. we slept in and it was awesome. after dozing away the early morning we went to brunch at food dance in kalamazoo because i was craving the mattawan creamery yogurt and i bought everything they had in the fridge. (if you ever see it for sale BUY IT it’s made in michigan and it is the best yogurt in your life). after brunch we went to get groceries at earth fare and headed home.
joe took an afternoon nap and i worked out in the garden pulling more weeds. why is it that with no rain weeds can still grow but plants suffer? seriously i would be the best gardner ever if we were supposed to grow weeds. we floated in the pool for about an hour before heading to grand rapids to go to gravity for some dinner then to edward sharpe and the magnetic zeros at meijer garden with friends. it was an absolutely gorgeous night and a fabulous way to end the weekend.0
