what a weekend it has been! you guys! if you want to talk about the best weekend ever. this is it. it started with the open house and it ended with a bowl of noodles and a glass of wine.
friday night we opened the doors to the store at 3pm and stayed open late until 9pm at the found cottage. it was seriously one of the funnest nights at the shop. once the sun set all of the lights twinkled and the new holiday decor shined. it was just an absolute riot. we met so many new customers and saw so many familiar faces. it is seriously the best part of owning a shop.
once we closed friday night we cleaned, organized and restocked for the saturday. we had a before hours food styling class and then we opened the doors at 10 for another busy day at the shop. we had the christmas music blasting and were packaging and wrapping gifts. it was just a really fun day! after the store joe came and picked me up and we headed off to pentwater. we got there around 6pm and turned on the heat then met up with our friends at gulls for dinner. we ended our night with one more drink with the new pentwater village president. (politics sneak in everywhere) and headed off to bed.
we must have been exhausted because we slept in until 6:45am. for people who always wake up before 5:30…6:45 was a big deal. we watched tv and read in bed and just relaxed for a bit. we then met friends for breakfast and went back to clean the cottage, put together a couch and winterize it. we can still go back up and use the house in the winter which we probably will one or two times but we just have to blow out the pipes and drain the water etc. after that we had one more drink at the brown bear (antler was closed) before heading home. on the way home we stopped and picked up the newest addition to our farm toy fleet….
my 1977 ford bronco! her name is bernadette the bronco. she is in road ready shape but needs a few “safety” adjustments. i’m going to start having her fully restored over the years to come but right now we’re just having a blast with it. i’ve been looking for one for a while but haven’t found the right one in the right condition for the right price. when this became available i jumped at it. i drove it home last night with it’s huge steering wheel just smiling because it was so bumpy and fun. can’t wait to drive it more!
