Retreat at the leland lodge

if ever i’m given the chance to get up north i take it, especially if it’s to the leland lodge. joe, otto and i have gone there quite a few times and i feel like we have our little northern family up there. we know people by name now, we have our “spots” and we have built relationships. it’s our northern home away from home. earlier this spring i had the chance to check out their retreat opportunities when I attended a social media retreat at the lodge. we got to do so many amazing and relaxing things while making new friends and learning from each other.

there were not enough of us attending to do this but the entire lodge is available for rent and is easier to do in the off season. truthfully some of my favorite times to visit is in the winter. it’s so beautiful and quite there. you don’t have a lot of waiting for tables or spots in the tasting rooms. there are special hours at places but it’s also at a slower pace. it would be the perfect place to take your group for a getaway for fun or for some team building exercises. I would love to have a planning retreat where we can go for the weekend and i could plan and schedule out my work for 2020. maybe i can convince some people to do that..

Ramp Picking Leland Lodge Northern Michigan

the lovely lodge team planned an amazing retreat for us bloggers including a goat cheese tour and tasting, floral class, lunches, exploring, yoga, hikes and ramp foraging. we even got to have dinner in the wine cellar! The wine cellar dinner was intimate and fancy and we all had a chance to celebrate what a truly great weekend it was.

the lodge can help you plan your retreat out or you can do it yourself. it’s within five minutes of local wineries, twenty minutes to sleeping bear dunes hiking trails and seconds to the awesome in house restaurant called bogeys. (get the brussel sprouts). there are endless activities to keep you busy or places to retreat if you need to hunker down and get some work done.

breakfast:
the lodge provides fresh muffins and coffee in the morning but if you need a little bit more walk to blue boat coffee or drive on down to figs. 9 bean rows also has amazing bread.

we stuck close to the lodge for dinner and enjoyed bogeys 19th hole and then had dinner in the leland lodge wine cellar.
