How is it that The Found Cottage Mercantile Market was already a full week away?! It doesn’t seem possible. I feel like just yesterday we were running around getting the final details in place and getting the gates ready to open. It seems crazy to work so long for something that is over in one weekend. Honestly, it’s like planning a wedding year after year. All of your friends and family come from out of town to shop and sell and it’s just this big happy time that is over as fast as it started.
I believe pretty firmly that this was our best year yet. The displays were over the top I mean… come on Call Me Old Fashioned built a house and The Cotton Shed built an entire porch set up. Everyone went above and beyond and the gals and I couldn’t be more proud of the work that everyone put forth. it was truly breath taking. Not to mention the awesome weather we had.
I can’t wait to unpack and show you all of my finds from the show. I bought one big piece but mostly all smalls other than that. They’re all either going to the cottage or somewhere in my home. I bought a large cabinet from Call Me Old Fashioned that I have no clue where it’s going to go. The point is I couldn’t leave it behind. That is not hoarding that is thinking ahead.
I must say reflecting on this market it just leaves me with such a positive warm feeling. It’s cliche I know but in the creative industry it is very hard to find people that WANT to work together. The best thing I’ve seen from this market is the photo that all the vendors in one of our barns took together before the end of the show. We all sell similar things but to encourage and applaud each others creativity is rare. I am so proud of all the customers who came and showed respect and encouragement to the people selling at this market. I heard over and over again from vendors all over the country how KIND our customers were. This market, it’s special. I am so honored to be able to be a part of it.
Did you all come to the mercantile market event last weekend? What did you think? I can’t wait to see all of your finds! We are already meeting and planning for next year. We have some big plans and can’t wait to take it to the next level.
Thank you so much for everyone who traveled to our market and spent time with us over the holiday weekend. Thank you for supporting our vendors and appreciating their hard work. Thank you to the vendors for going above and beyond a typical market set up. It was unreal the amount of work you put into this event and it shows.
A HUGE thank you to Ashley from Sincerely Ashley for snapping all the photos at the time of the gates opening.
Cheers to 2020!
see photos of our first market here!
Aww, just keep doing what you are doing! I love to catch up on whatever you share each and every day! I follow the garden group on fb, I love junkin and pickin and all the shows! Being in south OH all the shows you feature and attend are within a one day trip and I love seeing your haul, well all but Brimfield, which I’m totally jealous of!!
I am interested in the application process for the 2020 market. Thank you!
