putting on a market is an insane amount of work. it takes organizational skills, an absurd amount of computer work, calculations and financial skills and more. but when it all comes together it is one of the most rewarding things I do on an annual basis. this is going to be our third annual Found Cottage Mercantile Market and the fourth market I’ve ever helped coordinate. my business partners and I have learned some tough lessons along the way but this year.. this year is going to be amazing.
We have so many vendors coming from all over the country. These are makers and pickers that we have been blessed to meet within this industry that bring on pure magic. one of our friends is building an over the top display for his booth that i promised to keep a secret but i went over the plans with him and it is going to blow your mind. bring your cameras and get instagram ready.
The market is in a place now where the vendors have all sent in their contracts and we are beginning to make the layout. we are adjusting based on feedback last year (always have to evolve) and I can’t wait for you to see it. I thought I would share some photos from the past market to get everybody in the mood for some fall picking!
who are you looking forward to seeing this year? What are you on the hunt for? i am on the hunt for two large display pieces in my house. I need something long and narrow for my screen room preferably with a bit of storage. I also would like to replace a step back cupboard in my entryway with something a little smaller and more practical for entryway usage. and of course… oil paintings, trophies and jadeite.
