Leopard Matching Dress

Style & Fashion

October 26, 2020

I’ll admit Ashley is the first one to buy this H & M Maxi Leopard dress. She wore it and I loved it and so I ordered it. Gotta love a friend who doesn’t care if you match. We planned to each wear this dress the next day and style it however we want to see how different we could make it look.

This dress runs big and typically i’m a Large in H & M but the medium was good. If you have broader shoulders you might want to stick with your normal size because that is the only part that felt “fitted” to me. This dress was the last (non sweat pant) thing I ordered before lockdown went into effect and I finally got to wear it out of the house this past week. It’s lightweight and airy and I thought could also be fun styled with a blazer. My opinion and my opinion only is that if you are going to layer pieces that are a bit oversized you want to give them some definition. Either make the layering piece super structured or pair with a belt to define your waist and provide some balance.

This gold belt is from last years holiday launch of atlantic pacific. I have the gold, silver and black and they go with everything. I kept the rest of my accessories simple with my hair pulled back with this clearance headband from anthro and shoes from J.crew (sold out similar style here) .

I always forget about scarves and I love the oversized bow that Ashley tied with the dress the hat also gives a bit of structure to the dress. I think this could also be really cute come winter with some black pointed boots and a blazer… I love versatile pieces that can take you from season to season. Leopard is a great pattern for layering and mixing because the right smaller print can feel like a neutral.

This dress comes in a few different colors and I love it so much I might need to add one of the solid colors to my closet.. stay tuned!
