ok so i pulled the trigger and officially ordered carpet for the living room and I can’t wait to show you what i decided to go with. warning…. it’s drastic. and some people are going to hate it. but it’s joe and i and he loved it sooooooooo can’t wait.
we need more furniture for the room though. it’s so long ( 17×25) and it needs some chairs to go with the couch. we did order this big slip covered couch from birchlane.com but i feel i need a pair of chairs to add some additional seating.
i have room to create another entire seating arrangement in the room and i feel like two higher backed leather chairs would add the perfect touch.
the inspiration for this room is ralph lauren meets industrial glam farmhouse. make sense? sounds way more sophisticated than all the $hit i love piled into one room. at least i think so.
anyway once the floors are installed in the living room it will be time to move the furniture back in and i cannot decide just how rustic or how modern i want to go. i have two favorites but i’m not going to tell you because i want your opinions. they range in price from $400 – $1000 and i’m sure the leather quality will show through but for a room that gets used only in the winter (because it stays hot as hades in there)
below are a few chairs i have saved in my pin boards…thoughts?
terreno leather chair from CB2
Niels Leather Wing Chair west elm
Winged chair from west elm or Nina arm chair!
I’m leaning towards the west elm one too!
Hard decision!! My favorite way to rule chairs out is comfort…however little they are used. Which is why I often miss out on great deals online! 🙂
right!?!? I sat in the west elm ones and they were quite comfy!
I like the last one best…it is more traditional, even transitional to me. I think you’ll have more options down the road with it. That being said, I can’t be sure since I would love to see the rug and couch to have a better sense.
It’s impressive that you are getting ideas from this post as well as from our argument made here.
Lovely chairs! I never seen such kinds of chairs. These would look great in my living room. I cant wait to buy them. Thanks for sharing.
Comfort is my favorite way to rule out chairs, no matter how little they have been used. This is why I sometimes miss great online deals!
