Spring Outfits under $50 from The Found Cottage

Style & Fashion

May 8, 2020

Spring is here and I’m slowly starting to put actual pants back on. It’s amazing how different and more productive you feel getting dressed in the morning even if it’s just to take a drive to get otto to take a nap. (The boy is so  stubborn he will only fall asleep on a perfectly timed walk or car ride!) We have been keeping busy with working from home and loading The Found Cottage website with new product each week. We have been taking things home, photographing and bringing them back while one person is in the actual store packing boxes.

To say that this has been a trying time for the store is an understatement. It’s frustrating to not be able to be open during one of our busiest times of the year. But it is for everyone’s health and safety and that is our first priority and we will see you all hopefully come the end of may. Currently, we are shipping from the store as well as offering curbside pick up which has been what we have been wanting to do for a long time. Every order you place helps us keep the lights on and able to open the doors when we are allowed to once again. This shutdown is hurting businesses of all kind but we are keeping the faith and doing everything we can to work smart, safe and persevere.

Fall and Spring outfits are my favorite  to get in new items at the shop. I think it’s because it’s the most drastic change in seasons. We go from sweaters to dresses and then back to sweaters again and the breaks in between make you excited to wear the other again. Spring and summer for me is all about effortless style. There are so many things I want to do that I love spring outfits that are functional, affordable and easy to accessorize. We just added a bunch of new styles to the website and almost all of them are under $50. Here are some of my favorites from the launch and how they fit. For size reference I am 5’4 and 170lbs.

The Found Cottage Off the Shoulder TUnic

Every time I would come outside in a new outfit this little nut would run up and tell me I was pretty and wanted to pose for a photo. He is hilarious right now so I couldn’t help but take a pic with him each time. This off the shoulder tunic can be worn as a top or a dress. I would wear a heavier sandal with it in the summer for a bit of balance. It runs true to size and is $49.

The Found Cottage Stars Boyfriend Jacket

I’m obsessed with this boyfriend jacket. It could be worn as a heavier button up shirt or layered as a loose fitting jacket for those cool spring mornings. The large star print gives it an edgy feminine feel. It runs a tad large but I like the oversized fit. This jacket is $54.

The Found Cottage Sheer Pink and Yellow Floral Blouse

This peach and yellow flowy top is such a happy print and it comes in a bunch of different sizes (s – 2xl). It has a lining underneath the shear overlay so no worries about see throughness (that’s a word). I am wearing a medium in this picture but I think I would have stuck to my true size of Large because I like it a bit looser around the bottom hem. This top is $42.

The Found Cottage Prairie Floral Dress

This dress has become one of our best sellers at the shop and is one of my favorite spring outfits. It has long lightweight sleeves and is so soft it almost feels like pajamas. It has a light floral print and ruched top. This dress runs just a tad large. I am wearing a medium in this picture. This dress is $39The Found Cottage Ruffle Front Romper

I am obsessed with this jumpsuit. It is extremely comfortable to wear and I like the adjustable straps that tie in a bow at the shoulders. This runs true to size and I am wearing a size Large. This jumpsuit is $40.

The Found Cottage Leopard Print Tunic

I will argue all day long that animal print is a neutral. I absolutely love this top! It runs a bit large but I still took my typical size. this is another piece that ranges from small – 2XL. It’s a steal at $37.

The Found Cottage Yellow Wrap Dress

The biggest issue I always have with wrap dresses is they don’t stay wrapped. This dress however is faux! The seams are sewn together so the perfect wrap stays in place. It runs true to size and ranges from s – 1xl. It is $40.

The FOund Cottage Tie Die Maxi Dress

Tie Dye is back as this seasons “It Print”. It is on everything from oversized T shirts to maxi dresses. It’s a carefree easy to style print and I love it because as a mom of a toddler, you can’t really tell if they spill something on you. This runs a full size larger and has adjustable straps in the back (ties around the neck). It is meant to be billowy and I think it would even be cute as a coverup! This dress is $39.

The Found Cottage yellow and blue kimono

Kimonos are fun pieces to style and I love the bright vibrant prints of this piece. When we took these photos it was freezing out but come warmer weather it would be so fun with a t-shirt and boyfriend fitting shorts. This runs true to size and is $39.

The FOund COttage button up spring jumpsuit

This jumpsuit is SO comfortable again it’s like wearing pajamas. It runs a little large (I am wearing a medium) but I love the flowy loose fit. I think it would be so cute with a denim jacket or a big belt at the waist. This jumpsuit ranges is sizes small – 2xl and is $42.

The Found cottage button up stripe picnic dress The Found cottage button up stripe picnic dress

I call this dress the picnic dress because it reminds me of something Audrey Hepburn would wear out on a stroll. It has a seersucker feel to it and I thought it was fun to wear the bow in the front or in the back. It would be cute with a big belt as well. This dress runs true to size and is $42

Thank you for supporting our little shop. It’s been a dream of ours since..forever. Reminder we offer curbside pick up so if you still need a gift for mama (or some new spring outfits) we have you covered! See the gift guide here.
