Finger Licking Good Halloween

We hope you have a Finger Licking Good Halloween from our family to yours! When trying to decide what Otto should be for halloween it was a tough call. He is in to so many things! Would he be Uncle Sam? A flag? Mickey Mouse? We finally decided since chicken is one of the only foods he asks for that he would make a perfect Colonel Sanders.

Imagine the look on the kid working behind the counter at KFC when I walked in and ordered a kids meal and asked for a clean bucket for my sons halloween costume. I got a excuse me? Ya heard me right Tevin. I need a clean bucket for a costume. We had a good laugh about the ridiculousness of it but the costume came together perfectly.

We headed to Meijer Gardens to snap some photos of the Colonel because it was so cold and rainy this week. Otto got to go trick or treating at Joe’s parents last night and tonight we will be going to my parents. He has zero interest in actually eating the candy which is probably one of the only times a food aversion comes in handy. More candy for Joe and I. That is unless Honey (my mom) packs his bag with more puffs and books. (Mom if you’re reading this please sneak in some payday bars or milky ways).

I’ve never been one to be about halloween not for any other reason other than it’s just not my kind of holiday. I’m more of a Thanksgiving kind of gal. But having a toddler who is into it has been an absolute riot. He ran around Meijer Gardens yelling SPOOOKY HALLOWEEN to all the ladies working the desk. Every now and then we get a “finger licking good!”

In an odd way this halloween costume is a bit of a celebration of how far he’s come with his food aversions. In the past I have avoided all of the kid clothes that have “gimme pizza” or some weird stuff like that because well I’m not going to put food clothes on my kid that doesn’t orally eat. I don’t know, I guess it’s a bit of a sore subject for me. But this year we are celebrating! Otto loves pizza and chicken! That is good enough for me!
