I have never been a fan of New Years Resolutions. Mostly because growing up they almost ALWAYS centered around weight loss and also because I never kept them. I am more of a goal maker. I feel like goals are a more positive way to make changes especially around the new year. To me, resolutions feel too long term while goals I can set as small as remember to make a grocery list once a week.
One thing is for sure, I absolutely love the fresh start that the new year brings. It’s like a metaphorical blank slate and I feel I am most creative in January. Even though in Michigan the snow is usually falling and we are stuck inside most of the time. It’s good to slow down, plan and set attainable and realistic goals for the year ahead.
I feel like 2019 finally snapped into a good click for me. My work / life balance feels adequate (most days) and I have a good sense of where I want my business(s) to go. We got many house projects done around the house with more scheduled for 2020. One thing is for sure, your work is never done when you live in an old home. There is ALWAYS something to do, fix, repair and mend.
My goal for 2020 in terms of this blog is to dive a bit deeper. I have so many ideas in my head and I am working on scheduling and getting them down but I have this dream to share fellow pickers, gardeners and business owners that I have relationships with, with you. There is so much creativity in this world and I have some fun ways to share it.
I am excited to continue the project of My Old Family Recipe with my mom and watch that continue to grow and bloom. We also have some super exciting changes coming to The Found Cottage this spring as we celebrate FOUR YEARS in business! I feel like our little baby store is growing up (and when you see what we have in store.. it kind of is). There are new projects in the words and just AH so many exciting things!
To stay up to date with the everything that is happening please subscribe to my email newsletter. It goes out once a week on Mondays and has blog updates, podcast recommendations, garden tips and more.
I will also be kicking back off my garden group and flea market group with the new year. The discussions that happen there are so happy and informative if you are interested in either of those topics they are great places to be!
What about you? Are you one to make resolutions or goals? What are your’s for 2020? Happy New Year my friends! I am glad you are here!
