I have been trying really hard to listen to my body, my heart and mind lately but all the feelings just feel muddled. Do you ever feel that? Like the more you actively try to be still in listen the more clouded things become?
I try to take a few moments each day and be alone. Put the phone down, close the computer and feel something like wet dewy grass under my feet. A moment to be still. But lately it’s just piled high with to do lists, what has to get accomplished, the wheels spinning faster and faster darn near almost out of control.
How do you stop the train? I don’t know. I think this might be for me, one of the more challenging results of the pandemic. I’m finding it hard to keep up the pace like I used to after so much time of slow down. Pair that with the frantic feeling that it might all get closed down and taken away again just leaves me spinning circles with no direction.
My son, Otto loves finding Nemo and quotes Dory pretty frequently “just keep swimming just keep swimming”. I feel like that has been my mantra lately and now I just want to float. Enjoy the fruits of early spring labor. Can fruit, pick veggies and smell the flowers.
Get back to enjoying the work, the process and less worry about the unimportant things (Like algorithms … am I right?)
That’s why dear friends, you will always find me here on this site. A site where if you check in, you’ll see the latest update and content. You’ll never miss a post and you get to determine the timeline, not the head honchos at IG.
I was chatting with an internet friend, Kim Klassen (ps if you don’t watch her videos you MUST) about creating and how the IG algorithm can really take a toll on creativity, productivity and self esteem. I had to take a step back and remind myself that it is a joy that I get to share parts of my life with you and that there are others out there who also have a common interest.
Together we can get dressed up in tulle, sequins and bright beautiful colors to go get groceries, farm and garden and talk about the things in life that we find joy and happiness in.
While this is supposed to be an outfit post, I’m struggling with the words today. It felt right to share a bit about what is on my heart in addition to the clothing on my body.
When you visit this blog I hope that you are inspired, rejuvenated and excited to try something new.
Thank you for being here.

ok but before I go… a little about this mega clearance outfit. I have worn the crap out of this clearance orange skirt from J.Crew. In fact I’m wearing it today with a blue linen shirt that I found at TJ Maxx. This skirt is currently on mega clearance for only $37 and also comes in navy. The bright orange just pops with anything you are wearing. I thought it was so cute with this orange button up sleeveless shirt from the J.Crew Outlet and these blue strappy sandals. Also from J.Crew, also on clearance.
A few notes on sizing
The oranges shirt runs large I took a medium when I’m typically in between a medium and large
The orange skirt runs a full size small so go up
The sandals run a bit narrow but I still took my standard size of 9.5
I’m typically not an orange or yellow kind of gal but the color has been really perking up my mood and I’ve found myself gravitating more and more to it. Summer is all about bright fun and beautiful colors.
What a great look on you Abby. Always take the time to just breathe and take in the beauty that you and Joe & Otto are creating. It’s all gonna be okay. Xoxo
You my friend are a breath of fresh air! Keep being you!
Remember, you really don’t HAVE to do it all, even if you planned to. You are in charge of the busy factor. Otto, Joe and you come first. After that it’s all just flowers and stuff
