new living room color

so a while back i was deliberating about what color to paint the living room. i knew i wanted something bold and vibrant and unique. i’m not a white wall person. i don’t mind it in certain areas of the home but i knew i wanted this room to be vibrant. i just couldn’t pull the trigger. after much careful and obsessive texting with my pal dann (color expert) we painted the room last weekend… but before i show you let’s take a moment to reminisce on what it used to look like…

and now……

living room 1

ladies and gentleman please welcome lafayette green by sherwin williams to the family. i first became obsessed with the idea of painting everything green when i saw the december 2015 pottery barn catalog and i loved how it made everything just POP up against it. it was stunning. i called the pottery barn design team and we just couldn’t match the color (it was more sage in real life) so enter dann again to save the day. i’m obsessed.

living room 2

and by saying i painted everything green… i painted EVERYTHING green. every piece of trim, window pane, everything. is. green. and i’m loving the way it is making all of the brass in the house pop. we painted over the tile on the fireplace with just a basic black brick paint. and voila it worked (i think) i love how cozy it is.  i even let joe hang spike lee (his very first deer) above the mantle. I think it just kind of works.

living room 3

i am really not feeling the carpet so much so i ordered this 8×10 jute rug from rugs usa (SO CHEAP) it was only $100 for the rug (free shipping) and it works for now. until joe is sick of me asking for new floor that is.

so what do you think of the change?! i have a few touch ups to do, furniture to move around and more you know but i’m thrilled with how it turned out!
