new mexico

greetings from new mexico!

i have had two days here packed full of conferences and a little bit of opportunity to see what is going on around this town. my co worker misty and i arrived here early afternoon on sunday and walked the town  of santa fe a little bit after we checked into the hotel. there was a parade going on so a lot of things around the town were closed but we found this really cute little farmhouse italian inspired restaurant that had a really interesting southwest infusion to it.

yesterday we had a jam packed morning and afternoon of conferences and seminars which let out around 1:30 because some people were leaving on a golf outing. i love golfing but i love exploring more. i went back to the room and answered as many emails as possible and headed out to do some exploring.

my two favorite places that i have found so far was the modern general store which had cookbooks, gardening, fresh milled flours, garden tours and a little cafe. it was so adorable! i couldn’t help but stock up on a few cookbooks i’ve never seen before. of course.

after we took pictures of every single thing in the store because it was so adorable we headed to the shake foundation to get a little tasty treat. lets be honest, i just wanted to take the building home with me.

we walked through some more awesome (expensive) antique stores then headed around some of the little market areas and then back to the hotel to get ready for dinner.

we went to a restaurant inside the hotel la fonda which is one of the older hotels in the santa fe area. i had this amazing maragarita called naranjita borracha which the waitress said translated into little drunk orange. it was delicious. i then had stuffed chilies for dinner and went to bed stuffed. we have a full day jam packed with conferences and meetings today so our next opportunity for exploration will be our last night here on wednesday!

happy tuesday everyone!
