nursery inspiration 1

ok so last weekend my mom sister and i went shopping in chicago mostly for clothes but also to kick off the search for baby registry and nursery stuff. i’m very set on not finding out what we are having so the challenge is to find gender neutral items that are not bland or orange. why is everything gender neutral orange? i have a few ideas for a neutral nursery and this is actually the second idea that popped into my head.

i feel like the farm theme can go either way (since you know we live on a farm). it can go farm boy or farm girl once the baby is actually here. honestly i can’t even believe that i’m talking about this. never in a million years did i think i would be talking about nurseries. but here we go. this was all inspired by this little pig rocker i saw at the land of nod. i feel like farm has been done quite a bit but what about glam farm?

  1. wallpaper
  2. piggy rocker
  3. sheep book organizer
  4. lamb mobile
  5. rocker
  6. lamp
  7. crib
  8. campaign dresser

of course we had to have some touch of sheep in the mix. especially because our sheep could be having lambs any day now! the rocker is adorable but i want to go try it out because it doesn’t looks super comfy but it had awesome reviews on line. i just loved the clean lines and the striped fabric.

the brass crib….. i might get no matter what design we go with. i’m obsessed with it and haven’t seen anything like it yet. land of nod has a gold crib but it’s more of a painted wood gold than a shiny brass.

my new favorite internet find though is the barn scene wallpaper from the new magnolia home wallpaper collection. it looks like vintage fabric but it’s an old farm scene if you look at it up close. i thought maybe even just doing one wall in it would be cool but to be honest i’m not really a “feature wall” kinda gal. i like to go big or go home.

so this is a start i guess? i would like to get this set up before it gets too nice outside.

When I was reading through your ideas I instantly was going to tell you to check out Magnolia wallpaper collection but your already on top of that 🙂
Don’t forget to think about local shops too that always carry the hard to find VINTaGE stuff!

Love the look of the rocker…but keep in mind that you might want something more cushy for those late nights feeds.
